Could my registry be hosed? Is there something I can clean up to ensude PH finds the right sdm3? It doesn't even seem to try to start it, let alone send commands to the PLC through it.

Before running PH, try launching the SDM manually (the one in the PH folder), exit the SDM, then launch PH.

I see that you've said you can run the SDM on it's own and isresponding works successfully.

At this point, I would suggest trying the latest alpha available in this post: http://power-home.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1370&PN=1. I have made yet more changes to the Insteon startup routines so hopefully it will perform better.

The recommended approach would be to shutdown PowerHome. Use Task Manager if necessary to ensure it is not running. Update both the PowerBuilder runtimes and the PowerHome Executables. Since PowerHome seems to have been running successfully before .11, I would go back to using SDM 235. Run the SDM235.bat file in the Device Manager directory. Next, manually launch the SDM (without PowerHome), and verify proper startup. Type the "DM" and make sure isresponding is successful. You may also want to try a "getplcstatus". Verify your firmware and your PLC address. If this all works, then type "haltdm" to close the SDM. After it completely closes, try launching PowerHome.

Let me know how it goes.

 Dave.

Well.. weirdly enough I was able to fix it by installing a new SDM 308 seperate from powerhome with it's own installer and PH seems to find it fine, and it works.. so while why the one in the PH directory didn't work remains a mystery, I'm not complaining anymore

Have there been any other developments on this? Just wondering if you can copy/move the new 308 to beneath the PowerHome directory and have it still work (you'll definately need to manually launch the SDM3.exe if you copy/move the files) since the current PowerHome alpha is set to work this way.

 Thanks,

 Dave.
