Is there any way to know when a power failure has occurred? It seems that Insteon devices will recover but X10 will recycle as off. Using a laptop for PH will not detect the failure as they usually run on battery when power is off. I don’t know if the PowerLinc will notify when the power comes back on other than the PC does a discovery. In the old days we had a way to recover when using JDS and CP290 PLCs. Any thoughts ???

I have my elk check the status of the power for my PC every two minutes. If it's not running, it tries to start it. I just put a 12V relay on one of the spare molex connectors and wire the contacts to the elk inputs. Then I wired an Elk output relay across the power switch. If the relay is open when I check for it, then I close the power switch for one second. Easy.

 | I haven't given this much thought until now. Please give us (me) a bit more detail on how you do this.

The 12V relay across what/where? And, how do your checks work? They check for voltage? or for PH program operation? Any more details here would be appreciated.

 Thanks,
 Steve

Interesting thought, when I unplug the PowerLinc and re-plug I get the following response in the SDM log.

I wonder if there is anything posted in PH one could trigger from.
