Where does PowerHome get the Daylight Saving Time offset from? Does it pull this information from the OS or does PowerHome have its own database for this? The reason I’m asking is we have 3 weeks before the new DST rules for 2007 kick in. Do we need to patch PowerHome or will patching the Windows OS be enough?

my guess is that windows is the time keeper, as with most software.

Heh. PH calculates it based on the old way. The fix will be in the new version that's coming soon.

The reason PH calculates it is for future events, not the current time (i.e. dusk/dawn).

PowerHome uses it's own routines to calculate daylight savings time.

However, the current version of PowerHome 1.03.4.9 is already updated to use the latest algorithm. What is currently not working is the ph_isdaylightsavings function (it's actually never worked apparently
). The ph_getsuntime function in version 1.03.4.9 is also updated to use the new DST algorithm.
 HTH,

 Dave.
