I currently use PH solely to manage my Insteon links and feel that the price of the software supports that even if the software did nothing else. But I was looking at the screenshot page today for SH and saw the device status screenshot, with indications for motion sensors. How do I do that? I have an Elk security system. How do I get the information out of the Elk and into PH?

If you have the latest version of PH (upgrade is free), open up the help file and read about the Elk (there is a couple page write up about how to set the Elk up as a PH controller).
This write up is a start. There are a few threads that talk about individual elk issues tht will likley soon be ironed out when the next beta version of PH is released.
PH/Elk/Insteon is a STRONG combination....enjoy.

Wow! Thanks! I found the directions and added the Elk as a controller. When I connected, it found all my Insteon lighting and groups, but I couldn't control the lights in the Device Status page, plus the current statuses were wrong for most of them. Also, I couldn't view the inputs at all. They just didn't show up. So, the connection seems to be there--this I know since I can see the lighting names, but it's not working completely. This does sound very promising though.

I spoke to Dave and this PowerHome package is very promising for everything that ELK currently does not do. Specifically, variable exchange (i.e. Temperature control) and basically any rule that the core system cannot do (especially those 4 line DELAY codes). My team including myself are looking at configuring serial sockets to interface ELK to any existing home automation system. I'm very excited that I stumbled onto this product.

My new team will be working with Dave for interfacing any system with another. Currently my customers are on the legendary Stargate System (JDS) which is one of the best Home Automation systems in the industry. The LCD96M keypad is a programmable keypad that controls every single "anything" in the house. PowerHome will be able to link up to the Stargate while being directly connected to the ELK panel. Therefore, I can control the ELK panel through the existing LCD keypad (from the Stargate)in these houses. We are anxiously awaiting for version .12 that will have additional built-in functions for the ELK M1G. After installing a dozen of these panels, we quickly realized that the onboard memory and functionality is restricted. Therefore, using Powerhome will allow us to do true automation though variable exchange and advanced functions that would quickly exhaust the rules/memory on the ELK board. The ph_sendsocketdata1 formula is going to be the key to a "Virtual Connection" to every system on the network. You can imagine what we can do with IP routing.
