Do you use any DS10A's, or know the codes that are sent by them? I'm trying to decode the WGL docs to be able to tell when the Low Battery bit is set.

 Thanks,
 Tony

Ive got a couple of these, but have never messed with the low battery bit (wasnt even aware it existed).

With mine, I just set them up and would watch the PowerHome Status screen to see what address and codes were transmitted and then created the triggers based on this.

If you come up with an answer, it would be interesting to note so that I could create appropriate triggers.

 Dave.

Was a low battery code ever discovered? Have these triggers been implemented?

Also, the DS10A sends a status update every hour. Is this code different than when the contact is first broken?

 Thank you,

 Cris

I have researched this a little bit more and it's not completely clear, but I think that the DS10As will send an 'alert' code when contact is first broken and a 'normal' code each hour reporting status. They will also send a low battery code.

The protocol for the w800fr32 looks limited and is over my head, but it would be nice if powerhome could act on these different states. (Or is the information possibly in the TEMP variables for the RF IN Ext trigger already?)

Edit: This document from rfxcom.com shows that the DS10As send Normal/Alert/Low Battery commands.

The low battery bit changes the status code sent, so I just watch for both of them...

I then react to each one. I never switched over to the triggers on these; I use the old method and check the TEMP variables (TEMP3=Unit, TEMP4=Status).

From what I can tell, the hourly update is just the current status.

Out of curiosity, do you have PH notify you to change the batteries if needed? by email? messagebox?

I've been monitoring incoming RF today and it looks like the instant trigger and the hourly updates are the same codes, even though the documentation I found seems to indicate separate codes.

Your help is always very much appreciated.

 Cris
